8 Municipalities in Fethiye to be abolished
Muğla is one of the provinces to be a metropolitan municipality and the towns supposed to be district centers are already announced. 36 out of 50 town municipalities will be abolished in Muğla, as 14 towns change into district centers. According to the list on the official web site of the Ministry of the Interior, of the 12 towns in Bodrum, Mumcular’s name will be changed into Karaova, Turgutreis’ name will be changed into Karatoprak and Yalıkavak name will be changed into Ortakent. They all have become district centers. 8 out of 12 municipalities in Fethiye will be abolished. Famous towns Göcek and Ölüdeniz will no longer be municipalities. Eşen, Seki, Üzümlü and Kemer will be district centers.
In Marmaris, 4 out of 5 municipalities will be abolished which are İçmeler, Armutalan, Beldibi and Turunç. Only Bozburun will be a district center.

Yatağan Turgut Mayor Salih Özen said “We thought our municipality was among the others to be abolished, yet, it has become a district center. A great surprise for us.”

Fethiye: Eşen, Kemer, Seki, Üzümlü.
Muğla Merkez: Yerkesik, Yeşilyurt.

Fethiye: Karadere, Kumluova, Kadıköy, Çamköy, Çiftlik, Göcek, Karaçulha, Ölüdeniz.
Kavaklıdere: Çamlıbel, Menteşe, Çayboyu.
Köyceğiz: Beyobası, Toparlar.
Marmaris: Beldibi, İçmeler, Armutalan, Turunç.
Muğla Merkez İlçe: Bayır, Kafaca.
Milas: Beçin, Bafa.
Ula: Gökova, Akyaka.
Yatağan: Bencik, Bozarmut, Bozüyük ve Yeşilbağcılar.
