Scottish animal lover found a donkey on the side of the road and took it to her animal shelter. She said a donkey association in Germany sends hundred euros per month for the care of the donkey.

Scottish Jeannie Thirkill has a shelter in Marmaris for stray cats and dogs on 6 acres of land on Marmaris-Datça highway. She takes care of 280 animals there.

Jeannie is a 55-year old animal lover who lives in Marmaris for 15 years and takes care of strays. Recently, she saw a stray donkey by the road and she took it to her shelter. As there is no association of donkeys in Turkey, an association in Germany sends hundred euros per month for the care of the donkey. This association also meets all the costs of the donkey, Thirkill said “We can get help for cats and dogs in the country, but nobdy helps for a donkey.”
