Foreigners and Turks married to foreigners who live around Muğla region have established a mutual improvement society in Köyceğiz with the support of Governor’s Office and the Municipality of Köyceğiz.

On the night of establishment, co-operation was promised to live together in friendship and peace with various religions, languages ​​and races.  The presidency of the society was taken over by Nejat Dilsizoğlu who is married to German Ilona Jakshies, and Bulgarian Margarita Dimitrov took the 2nd presidency.

Turks who are married to foreigners and foreigners living in Köyceğiz came together with Köyceğiz Governor Yücel Gemici  and Mayor Salih Erbay at last year’s Christmas party. The idea of a society was first introduced at this dinner meeting. Preparatory work was completed and on December 20, the society of mutual improvement has been established for people who live in Muğla region by Nejat Dilsizoğlu, Margarita Dimitrova, Halil Karanfiloğlu, Kamile Mukaddes, Erhan Paulsen, Selma Vickers, John Vickers and Ülker Gündoğan. The society has reached 120 members within a week.

Once the society is established, Köyceğiz Governor Yücel Gemici, Mayor Salih Erbay and the members came together for a meet and greet dinner. Mayor Erbay made a speech and said “I believe that this society will contribute a lot to the promotion of Köyceğiz.”

President Dilsizoğlu pointed out that they shall appoint representatives to Marmaris, Dalaman, Bodrum, Ortaca and Fethiye to reach the foreigners living there. He said “We have established this society in order to solve the problems of foreigners who choose our country, our region to live, and to bring them into the association of organizations.  Our goal is to live without language, religion and racial discrimination.”
