A British tourist died swimming at Ölüdeniz in Fethiye, Muğla. According to news, British tourist Ian David Parker (57) on holiday at Ölüdeniz with his family went to Ölüdeniz Beach to swim despite the heavy rain. Ignoring the severe weather conditions, he insisted on swimming although it was pouring down. Soon after, he disappeared under the waves and his family called Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard. Business owners by the beach also volunteered for help in the seach for the lost Brit. A local diver found Parker’s body about 100 meters off shore. His body that was drifted by the storm was brought ashore by a boat. After an examination by public prosecutor the body was sent to the hospital morgue.
