Muğla Culture and Tourism Director Kamil Özer made a speech at the ceremony: “This project which is carried out in cooperation with our ministry is aimed at reviving forgotten handicrafts, domestic values and traditional arts, training new artists so as to increase occupations. We were going to carry out this project in 5 cities for this purpose. One of those cities has become Muğla. As the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, we have organized this project with Yoruk Tents Association.”

Muğla Mayor Osman Gürün said glassblowing course was very important for Muğla: “Because the women of Muğla think about how they can use their talents, produce specific products and turn their products into an economical value. As we had told at our other courses as well, do not throw these into your chests. We put them on the market and use them as a way to benefit from them economically.” Glassblowing teacher Rasuh Cömert said, “Muğla is a region where glassblowing projects should be carried out more. The raw material of glass can be found in this region. It is extracted from Muğla, imported and processed at abroad and comes back to Turkey in a processed way.” Muğla Yoruk Tents Association President Orhan Akcan, “Everyone in Muğla has taken part in this cooperation. Our course has been completed today. We are considering the second stage. As our teacher mentioned, the raw material of glass is found in Muğla. We think why not producing it here and which way we should follow at the second stage. We are determined. We hope we can carry on like this.” After the speeches, Muğla Mayor Osman Gürün, Muğla Culture and Tourism Director Kamil Özer, The Employment Organization Director İlyas Sarıyerli, Yoruk Tents Association President Orhan Akcan and Glassblowing Teacher Rasuh Cömert have given the certificates to course attendants. iha)
