42 meters SG 12s1 which was donated by Coast Duard to help the developing of diving tourism in Fethiye arrived the town. The journey from Samsun to Fethiye took 6 days accompanied by tugboats, and the vessel is scheduled to be immersed in a ceremony on April 23. It will not only help developing of diving tourism in Fethiye, but also will serve as a shelter for the preservation of marine species which are on the verge of extinction. If it does not suffer a setback, the vessel is scheduled to be immersed at Dalyan River diving region near Af Kule Bay.

PARTS WHICH POSE DANGER FOR THE DIVERS ARE DISMANTLED

Meanwhile, study was initiated to make the vessel suitable for diving tourism which was anchored off Fethiye Coast Guard. Diving school representatives on board are making changes inside the ship for a comfortable tour in water. In this context, parts which may pose danger for the divers are dismantled. Chair of Fethiye UnderwATER Society Mehtap Çelikok said that the vessel will have a great contribution to the improvement of diving tourism in Fethiye. She added that Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Governorship helpedl in taking the vessel to Fethiye, and member diving schools and other organizations were also great support.
