FOLK SINGER BURNS THE COPIES OF HIS VIDEO TO PROTEST RUSSIA
Folk singer Aydın Aydın who casted a Russian model on his latest video has burned all the copies of his video.
Aydın Aydın, 48, shot a video for his hit folk song ‘Senin ne mal olduğunu bir ben bilirim’ in Fethiye and casted a Russian model. After the Russian plane crash and sanction decisions of Russia, he burned all the copies of this video and said he would not cast Russian models on his videos and at concerts again to protest.
HE WAS GOING TO RELEASE HIS NEW SONG
Folk singer Aydın Aydın from Hakkari shot his last video in Ölüdeniz Fethiye. The video was shot in 2 days in November and a Russian model named Elena played in the video with Esra Kapıcı, 21 year old model from Fethiye. Aydın was waiting for the editing of his video for his song which he wrote himself. Before Aydın released his song and video, a Russian warplane violating Turkish air space on November 24 was downed. After this incident, Russia has called citizens not to go to Turkey and taken a series of decisions not giving permission for exports of fruits and raw vegetables with Turkey.
FOLK SINGER BURNS THE COPIES OF HIS VIDEOS
Folk singer Aydın Aydın decided to protest the sanction decisions of Russia. Aydın announced that he would promote his video in Fethiye and organized a promotion meeting for his latest video in a restaurant in the coastline. Aydın watched the video with model Esra Kapıcı who had played in the video with a Russian model. Aydın took the CDs of his song and said, “He will not cast Russian models again.” After this explanation, he burned the 2 copies of his video.
“THE VIDEO COST 25 THOUSAND TL”
Aydın explained the video cost 25 thousand TL but he would not promote this video and destroyed it. He said he planned to shoot another video only with Turkish models. Aydın said no artist would want to burn and destroy his efforts but chose this way to show his protest against the sanction decisions of Russia. He would not cast Russian models at concerts and on his videos either. Aydın said the Russian model was chosen via a modelling agency in Istanbul and he played a Turkish man whose marriage was destroyed by Russian prostitutes.
“I AM ANGRY AT RUSSIAN MODELS NOW”
Aydın Aydın explained it was the first time that a singer burned his video during a promotion meeting and said, “Turkish people care a lot about their neighbours and guests. As an artist, I wanted to show my reaction and protest. Peace is important for all of us but if a person does not respect you, you will not respect him either. We worked hard for the video for days. No one would want to destroy his efforts. The song had been criticized before it was released. People had told me the lyrics are very nasty. We have more beautiful models. I will cast them next time.”
“PROTEST WORTH OUR EFFORTS”
Model Esra Kapıcı who had played in the video said they worked very hard for the video but the protest of Aydın Aydın should set a great example to other artists as well. Kapıcı added all their efforts and expenses went for nothing, “We can shoot the video again. Mr.Aydın wanted to protest. This protest is worth it.”
