Great Demand For Tile Courses
Trainees at Tile, Composition and Painting Courses opened on October 17 at Fethiye Public Training Center and Evening Art School started to paint their drawings. The lectures are given by Sibel Uça, an artist of the Ministry of Culture 2 days a week and 15 participants are attending the course.
The aim of the courses which have started at Fethiye Public Training Center is to maintain the cultural heritage and provide participants a new hobby. The courses will last until may. Course days are Tuesday and Sunday and the total lecture hours are 512. The participants will exhibit their works of handicraft at the end of their education, and they will be given certificates by Ministry of Education.
The trainees say that they attend these courses in order to acquire a hobby and to create something different. They added that their handicrafts will add a distinct beauty to their homes.
Their teacher Sibel Uça said “Our Tile, Composition and Painting Courses have started on October 17, 2011. We have already finished drawings and started painting. As our trainees become more familiar to work with their hands, they will be able to obtain various figures with different items. The an already sense the differance between various patterns. Our courses will be over by the end of May with a group exhibition including the handicrafts created during the courses.”
On the other hand, 149 general courses were opened so far at Fethiye Public Education Center. A total of 6 thousand 153 participants attended these courses. 2 thousand 703 of these participants were men and 3 thousand 450 of them were women. There were 547 participants for 16 kinds of professional and technical courses. 63 people attended to 6 literacy courses. There was a total of 171 courses which 6 thousand 763 participants attended.
Fethiye Public Training Center and Evening Art School President Osman Koftu said that registration for the courses continues, and he said all kinds of courses can be granted in accordance with demands.
