4th stage of 48th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, Fethiye-Marmaris stage started when Governor Mehmet Ali Karatekeli waved the flag on Atatürk street. There were 186 cyclists on this stage. It was specified that 132-kilometer stage between Fethiye and Marmaris was an easy one, and the cyclists climbed up to 329 meters from sea level. On this stage, King Prime was awarded at 38th km. and Sprint Prime at 51th km. Stage was considered as easy because there are very few slopes on this route. President of Turkish Cycling Federation Emin Müftüoğlu spoke before the start. He said he enjoyed the third stage, Antalya-Elmalı stage of the tour a lot, and very proud that a cyclist from a Turkish team finished the stage first. He added that Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey is becoming a brand name. “We know the contribution of Fethiye to the event, and the contribution of this tour to the entire country is precise. The tour, renews itself every year. Therefore, I believe the tour would be much better in the coming years.” Müftüoğlu said “Especially this year, it was very good to start the tour in reverse. Elmalı stage was run for the first time and was very successful. Our congradulations go to Bulgarian Ivalio Gabrovski from Konya Torku Şekerspor who won the 152 km. Antalya – Elmalı stage and gifted us a stage victory as he ranked first in individual classification. We make changes every year. New tracks are added to make the tour more attractive. What happens next year is unknown, but to start in reverse was better. We really enjoyed it. Fethiye joins our tour for five years now with great contribution. We’ve come quite a distance towards branding.”
