Looking For Russian Speaking Staff
The shores of the southern Aegean flocked by Russian tourists are experiencing a shortage of staff who can speak Russian.
Marmaris is experiencing a shortage of staff who can speak Russian.
With the removal of visa requirements between Turkey and Russia, a large number of Russian tourists prefered Turkey for a holiday. With the increasing number of Russian tourists, the number of Russian speaking staff remained to be insufficient. Various organizations in Marmaris are trying to cover the need for Russian speaking staff by organizing language courses.
Marmaris Directorate of Public Education, Marmaris Young Businessmen Association (MAGIAD) and a number of private training center organized Russian language courses.
MAGIAD Chairman Süleyman Erdaş said that said that they launched 2 hours of Russian language courses 3 days a week. “Last year, we had arranged English courses. This year we have included Russian. Our businessmen members said that they started to need Russian speaking staff as well as English. More Russian tourists began to arrive compared to past. Therefore, Russian speaking staff is needed more now.”
Erdaş also said that they have created two classes to respond to this need. Starting in December, they will be giving Russian courses including beginning and intermediate level.
Erdaş expressed that they give their trainees job guarantee who had successfully completed the language course.
