Shopping and Life Center goes out to tender

 The shopping and life centre that is going to be built on the place of the old wholesale market hall is going out to tender. The process of tender is starting about the Fethiye Shopping and Life Centre, the project of which is determined with the national competition started by Fethiye municipality in 2008. In the stated meeting of the Fethiye town council, despite the rejection of the Ak Party (the Party of Justice and Progress) members and the independent members, the article about putting the project out to tender was accepted by a majority of the votes. In the meeting, while the members of the town council reported the drawbacks of the project, a council member from MHP(Nation and Folk Party), Metin Talaş, stated that the residents of the town supported the project according to the surveys done throughout the town. Thus, the works of the project needed to start straight away. It is noted that the centre was going to be built over a field of 22,823 m² and completed and put into service in 2013. The project which includes an amphitheatre, cinema halls and concert halls is being planned as a provincial and regional business centre. At the same time, the demolition over the vegetable hall where the centre is going to be built is going on. In the frame of the works that are on the last stage, 48 offices and 50 storehouses have been moved to Karaçulha wholesale vegetable market.
