South Korean State Television Makes a Documentary of Lycian Trail

Southern Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) welcomed KBS World TV, South Korean State Television, for Lycian Path documentary with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Tokyo Consultancy of Culture and Promotion.

Southern Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) welcomed KBS World TV, South Korean State Television, for Lycian Way documentary with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Tokyo Consultancy of Culture and Promotion.

Starting from Fethiye and reaching Antalya on 535 kilometres, Lycian Way Hiking Trail is shown in the list of 10 best long distance trekking hikes and has a history of ancient Lycian civilization. GEKA accompanied South Korean TV for the documentary of Lycian Way in Fethiye. The documentary is produced for the audience interested in mountaineering and trekking in South Korea and also features Gui Hwa Song, famous mountaineer having climbed Mount Everest, and professional trekkers. A dinner was organized by FETAV (Fethiye Introduction Association) for the editorial staff shooting the documentary in Ölüdeniz and Kayaköy routes of Lycian Trail. FETAV, Fethiye Municipality, representatives of Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry accompanied the South Korean TV staff for the dinner. A presentation was made related to Fethiye hiking trails of Lycian Way and several documents introducing Fethiye were introduced to South Korean TV editors.

Christine Pae, one of the editors of South Korean TV for the documentary film, said, “KBS World TV is the state television of South Korea. We had made several films in Cappadocia and Pamukkale before. This is our first time at Lycian Trail. The name of our documentary is Mountain. This program is about hiking trails in mountain areas in the world. The documentary will be about 50 and 70 minutes and broadcasted twice in one season. We see the Lycian Way as one of the 10 best hiking trails in the world that should definitely be visited. We will feature the trail this way. It will be available to watch on the internet as well.”
