The boatyard which was supposed to be built at Blackweed Beach in Yanıklar will be moved to Karataş region in Çiftlik with a super plan by the Council. The boatyard has nothing to do with Blacweed which villagers and environmentalists opposed to. It is still a mystery if a boatyard will be built at Blackweed region…

THE BOATS WILL BE CARRIED TO THE SEA BY A CANAL

The boatyard at Karagözler which will be moved to a site outside Fethiye will be moved to Karataş. It was announced by Çiftlik Council that the plans for the boatyard and dry dock facilities are almost finalized. The project has already been approved by  Special Environment Protection Board. The region was registered as agricultural area, however, it is not suitable for agriculture because of marsh and reed beds.  The status of the area was changed as a place of boatyard and dry dock facilities.

SUPER PROJECT BY ÇİFTLİK COUNCI

The Mayor of Çiftlik told press that they will turn 150k square metres of low lying land into the new Çiftlik Boatyard, and they will be able to serve 35 enterprises at the same time. Unlike the other boatyards across Turkey, the site will lie 400 m from the sea but a canal will be created to give access to boats. The canals are to be expanded for 25 meters and be deepened to serve the purpose. There will also be social facilities and commercial areas.
