Yavuz Aslan, 29 year old parachute pilot from Fethiye, walked from Fethiye to Aydın to raise awareness on leukaemia. Aslan organized a trekking activity named “1 Man 1000 Steps” from Fethiye to Istanbul for this social responsibility project.

Aslan organized a trekking activity named “1 Man 1000 Steps” from Fethiye to Istanbul for this social responsibility project. Yavuz Aslan who has arrived in Atatürk City Square will continue trekking on the road to İzmir.

Aslan came to Aydın on the 7th day of trekking to Istanbul. He plans to arrive inIstanbul at the end of 33 days. Aslan explained he started this trekking activity to take 1000 kilometres in order to raise awareness on cancer: “The purpose of this project is to raise awareness on leukaemia patients. To draw the attention to cancer. If I can touch people’s hearts, I can make them donate money. I am on the 250th kilometre of my trekking activity, which I had planned to take nearly 40 days. I am heading towards İzmir. I plan to arrive in Istanbul after Manisa, Balıkesir, Bursa and Yalova.”

Aslan said he started trekking on his own and he did not accommodate in any hotel or house: “I have my tent and other supplies for trekking. I am carrying 23 kg load. I am cooking myself. I am setting my tent in proper places. Some of my friends are walking with me for moral support for a few kilometres. Then I carry on by myself. I am going to finish this trekking to raise awareness on leukaemia.”
