Woman Going for Swimming Found 3 Hours Later

Yeliz B, 39, had gone for swimming in Fethiye after she drank alcohol. The Coast Guard Squad found her lying on her back at a distance of 500 m from the coast 3 hours later she went missing.

 

112 EMERGENCY SERVICE & POLICE CALLED

Yeliz B, who came to Fethiye for her holiday with her boyfriend Serkan Saygın (40) by a caravan, went for swimming from Çalış Beach at about 04.00. Having disappeared in the darkness of night, Yeliz B did not come back from the sea and then her boyfriend Serkan Saygın called 112 Emergency Service and the police.

 

2 KILOMETRE AREA SEARCHED WITH FLASHLIGHTS

The police first searched the sea from the coast and then looked all around the beach. Considering Yeliz B might have gone ashore from another side of the beach, 2 kilometre area of Çalış Beach was searched with flashlights. At that moment, Coast Guard Security arrived in the area and joined the search and rescue operation. Paramedics waited for a possible medical treatment on the beach.

 

“SHE WAS A GOOD SWIMMER”

Her boyfriend Serkan Saygın, shocked and panicked, said his girlfriend went on swimming after she drank 2 beers. Saygın explained she went to swim a couple of times for all night and said, “There was nothing unusual before she went to swim. When I left my things in the caravan and returned, she had disappeared and it has been an hour since she went missing. I don’t know if she could come out from somewhere else. She was swimming here but I don’t know if she could swim that far. She was a good swimmer and had no chronic disease.”

 

FOUND AT A DISTANCE OF 500 M 3 HOURS LATER

Yeliz B was found by the squad of Coast Guard at a distance of 500 m from the shore 3 hours later she went missing. She was lying on her back on the water when they found her. She was taken by the boat of the Coast Guard and brought to Fethiye State Hospital by an ambulance.
