A project entitled ‘Illuminating the Land of Light’ developed within the framework of the “EU-Turkish Intercultural Dialogue Museum Donation Programme” has been approved. The project is finansed by EU programme and the aim is to build a conscious society by telling the students the values of cultural assets. Director of the Fethiye Museum İbrahim Malkoç held a meeting to provide information on the studies in this context. He said “Our goal is to reach our students through our teachers. We need to explain to 17 thousand students what cultural heritage is and the advantages of having a cultural heritage. Within the framework of this project, two public exhibitions will be held, one in Fethiye and the other in UK, to enhance the concept of partnership among participants. By preventing the destruction or smuggling of our cultural assests abroad we can create a conscious youth. Also, as part of the project, the technical framework of the Directorship of the Fethiye Museum is quite strengthened. Our goal is to create a youth with historical and cultural heritage consciousness.”
