Minister günay; “turkey is standing out in terms of tourism”

The Minister of Culture & Tourism, Ertuğrul Günay said “Turkey follows France, Italy and Spain in Europe in terms of tourism.”

Minister Günay attended the opening ceremony of a boutique hotel which belonged to Hikmet Selçuk and Mehmet Selçuk brothers, owners of Alesta Yachting which operates in Fethiye. Muğla Governor Fatih Şahin, Fethiye district governor Mehmet Ali Karatekeli, TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) President Başaran Ulusoy, Fethiye Mayor Behçet Saatçi, FETAB (Fethiye Tourism Association) President Osman Otgöz, county chairmen of political parties, heads of civil society organizations and many tourism were present at the opening.

Minister Günay said he had been visiting ancient sites for 30 years, and yet, a lot more to go. “Turkey follows France, Italy and Spain in Europe in terms of tourism. This year we hosted 31 million 500 thousand visitors. We had more than $ 25 billion revenue. 11 million tourists came to Antalya. Mugla is on the verge of 3.5 million people. This is not enough for Muğla, because it is potentialy in harmony with nature.”
