Traders of the touristic market Paspatur in Fethiye complain about the noise and the visual pollution because of the construction close to the market. They say tourists are no longer visiting the market because they cannot cope with the hammering noise and asked the authorities to find a solution as soon as possible. Summer season has already started, however, the tourists who come to visit Paspatur leave the market as soon as possible due to noise and visual pollution. Traders say that they talked to the Council but they were no help because construction permit was granted by the Governor. Levent Yılmaz President of Paspatur Improvement and Beautification Association said, “The construction at Cumhuriyet District just above Paspatur left our tradesmen in a tight spot. We had negotiations with Fethiye Municipality Housing Authority on this subject, yet, they said they did not grant the construction permit, Fethiye Governor is the authority. This problem should be solved immediately. The tourists opened the season but they leave Paspatur right away when they hear the noise. We want the authorities to resolve this matter as soon as possible.”
